How to Get Rid of Dandruff
Dandruff is very common among many people, especially in the winter time. Dandruff can get really itchy, and can be quite embarrassing to some. If you have dry scalp and dandruff, this does not mean you are dirty. It just means your scalp needs more moisture and oils. With all of the dandruff products out on the market you would think they would work, but they really don’t. Many people always wonder “How come I wash my hair a few times and the dandruff seems to be getting worse?” This is because the shampoo you are using is drying your scalp out more, which will cause all those nasty white flakes.
If you suffer from dandruff the best solution is home remedies. You can get rid of dandruff by using lemon juice and lime juice mixed with a drop of baby oil. Here is how to apply the mixture.
First step- Make sure your hair is free of all hair products such as gel, spray, or mousse. For best results wash your hair the night before with a mild shampoo. Head and Shoulders is ok to use, but don’t buy the strongest one.
Second step- Deep condition your hair with a hair mask. Allow the conditioner to stay on the hair for 20-30 minutes. Then rinse off with a cool rinse. Comb out all knots.
Third- Mix 1 ounce of lemon juice, 1 ounce of lime juice, and 2 drops of baby oil. For easy application place the mixture into a plastic hair-coloring applicator bottle.
Fourth step- Slightly dampen the hair with warm water. Do not over saturate it.
Fifth step- Apply the lemon juice mixture to your entire head. Comb the mixture through the hair from top to bottom. Concentrate on the problem areas. Then cover your head with a plastic processing cap (or shower cap). Allow this to stay on your hair for 30 minutes. Rinse off with cool water.
Other home remedies to help remove dandruff from your scalp are eggs mixed with water; pure coconut oil; Tea Tree shampoo; vinegar rinse with cool water; and coconut milk or Nizoral. Make sure not to shampoo your hair every day. Try to shampoo every other day to allow your hair and scalp to hold its moisture. Always make sure to apply a conditioner, but concentrate more on the scalp rather than your ends. Always use cool water to rinse your hair.
